“Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible”. – Anonymous

Science-based Training with a Touch of Art (we’re resourceful!).
Training as in listening to commands, is old school. Understanding real situations and behaving accordingly makes a big difference.
Emotionally prepared and readily available dogs is what we plan for.
We aim to understand each dog’s personality, preferences, rate of learning, skills and motivations.
The mechanics for neuromuscular memory (how to perform simple bodily tasks) are easy to achieve.
Our FOCUS System:
Creating a stable mindset made fit through repetition, reward and proofing, is what makes our FOCUS system meaningful. What would obedience be if it can be broken because of environmental stressors?
-
Exposure under controlled circumstances and gradual approaches, make things easier for your dog to understand.
-
We make the learning phase black and white by being clear on what’s the purpose of each session. Teaching a dog how to learn is a process that follows an order which will make them enjoy the journey by developing proactive and reliable behaviors on cue.
-
Our philosophy roots in dogmanship: the art and science of human-dog relationships (building a bridge of trust between you and your dog).
From potty training and crate training, to the competition ring/field and everything in between. From toy breeds to extra large breeds, pure breed or mixed. Intact males and females are always welcome! Special needs or behavioral challenges are our specialty. We always have room for dogs that other places reject for any reason, including aggression.

Behavior modification
The term is perhaps misunderstood, it's not a synonym of training. It involves a much more in-depth grasp of the dog’s psyche.
“Training” unfortunately, is not the answer for most behavior problems, but a part of the solution. Understanding your dog’s emotional and physical status and their ABC’s (Antecedents, Behaviors, Consequences), creates a link to their motivations and personality, the very first block for building a solution that lasts.
Rather than trying to correct “misbehaviors”, we aim to discover the dog’s motivations and shape their responses into desirable behaviors.
Some behavior problems need a different approach. Behavioral medicine through veterinary prescription, is sometimes necessary to open a window of opportunity towards your dog’s treatment. We take this very seriously and would assess and diagnose each case on individual basis, monitoring medically and behaviorally to evaluate improvements.
There’s a variety of behavioral conditions that can be identified such as: anxiety (generalized disorder > hyper awareness or situational > separation anxiety), fear, compulsive behaviors (chasing lights/shadows, air licking, fixation over objects, tail chasing, etc.) and aggression (dog to dog, dog to people, or both).
Aggression is understandably one of the most concerning behavioral problems. Lack of socialization (5-16 weeks of age); early neutering or spaying (before 7 months old); traumatic events or genetics could be the causes for aggression to appear at some point of your dog’s life. Some others may be medically related: metabolic diseases (hypothyroidism); painful courses (hip dysplasia, fractures, etc.); neurological problems (brain tumors, specific breed issues, etc.). We always recommend a vet check to discard an ongoing medical condition.
